Oyako-don (Egg and Chicken Bowl)

I made "Oyakodon" by using "Magic Fry Pan".

Do you know oyako-don, the Japanese dish that Japanese are very fond of?
Almost every Japanese love it.

This time, I tried slightly different recipe from ordinary.

【Ingredients & Instructions】

chicken thigh    green onion    eggs    sesame oil
boiled rice
water    soy sauce    sugar    red miso

Rid the meat of its smell.
Add a little salt and a drop of vinegar to sake.
Soak the chicken to it for 30 min.
In this way, the smell of chicken gone and become soft.
This method is taught from the blog visitor.

During that time, the other ingredients precook.
Green onion is cut diagonally each 1 cm.

Miso is less soluble in water.
Red miso and sugar are mix together well.

Add soy sauce, mirin and water in the bowl.
And well-stir it.

Beat an egg.

After 30 min, drain sake from the chicken, and cut into bite-size pieces.

Put sesame oil in the "Magic Fry Pan" and heat it.
Add the chicken with skin facing down and fry over high heat.
Cook for until brown.

When the skin has browned turn over it.
This moment, the chicken still undercooked.

Add green onion in the pan.

When the green onion has browned add the sauce.

Cover and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.

It's after 5 min.

Pour the beaten egg and cover.

Simmer for about 30 sec, and turn off the heat.

Put hot rice into individual "donburi" bowls.
Place the chicken and egg on top of the rice.

The chicken is crisp on the outside and juicy in the middle.
The taste of sauce goes great with chicken.
The taste of chicken is great like grilled over charcoal.
My family said "It's like a BBQ! :-D"
